We're now serving wine & beer at the Wood. Cheers!

Wed 02 Nov 2011

As our Sunday roasts and other meals become increasingly popular a growing number of people have been asking for a glass (or bottle) of wine with their meal, or a cold beer to refresh them after a brisk walk in the wood.

Until very recently we've only been able to serve alcohol at our monthly candlelit dinners, so we're delighted to announce that the wood now has a full alcohol licence, and we're serving a selection of beers plus wine by the glass or bottle every day.

As with the rest of our food and drink, we're specialising in sustainably produced drinks, choosing the most delicious beverages that are locally sourced and / or organic wherever possible.

So far our wines include an award-winning dry white and champagne-beating sparkling white from the organic Limney Estate, just 1.8 miles from the wood, alongside Duchy organic ale and beers from Harveys, Sussex's oldest independent brewery in nearby Lewes.

We're on the lookout for more excellent tipples, so if you have any recommendations of wines, beers or ciders that you'd enjoy drinking in a woodland setting please let us know!
