Our team is at the heart of everything we do at the wood. As we develop exciting new activities over the coming months we're looking for a Hospitality Manager - could it be you? NB: to accomodate holidays the deadline for applications has been extended to 18th Sept

You’ll work closely with owner, campaigner & broadcaster Joanna Yarrow at the heart of life at the wood. Welcoming visitors, campers & people on courses, helping plan & run weddings, candlelit suppers with nationally acclaimed speakers, small festivals & corporate training days, as well as delivering excellent day to day catering & visitor activities.

You’ll collaborate closely with our chefs to provide the highest standard of gorgeous local, sustainably produced food, organic & biodynamic wines & local beers. All set in our beautiful timber-frame barn & new woodland pergola, plus an outdoor wood-fired kitchen next year.

This post will suit someone with experience of fast-paced hospitality in hotels, restaurants or event management. You’ll need to be super-organised, preternaturally charming, quick-witted & have exceptional dynamism & stamina. You’ll be responsible for up to 20 staff including temps & young people who need training, clear guidance, active management & a calm but firm hand. Your customers will range from young families to chief executives (often on the same day). You’ll need to be an inspiring leader whilst being fully hands-on with fantastic attention to detail, balancing customer & supplier relations with day-to-day practical tasks.
