Glamping
Fancy something a bit more comfortable? To complement our back to nature wild camping experience we're creating glamping (glamorous camping) sites with a few more creature comforts, starting with a horsebox!
The beautifully converted Horsebox is complete with its own outdoor shower and compost toilet, woodburner, gas stove, solar-powered lighting and (limited) running water, as well as an outdoor fire-pit and benches. It sleeps two adults and two small children.
Booking is through Canopy and Stars only. Minimum 2 night stay, prices from £80 per night.

"We had a superb time...The Horsebox is cosy and kitted-out with the just the right sort of touches to make the stay as comfortable as possible. From the lovely beds and Chesterfield right down to the candles and posh crisps!
We loved being able to roam around the woodland so freely. Thank you for the milk and freezer blocks, they made a big difference. We ate at the Blackboys a couple of evenings, so thanks for that tip as well. If you'd have us back, we'd definitely love to return to the Horsebox... Thank you for making our stay so lovely". "Myself and my two children (7 & 8 yrs) had an amazing time. Very exciting when we saw the horse box for the first time along the track. We really enjoyed a sense of wilderness and cooked everything on the camp fire. The outdoor shower was surprisingly good, even the kids were up for it. We also took a firecraft workshop and put the skills to use back at the camp. Magical and imaginative place. The Wilderness Woods site was tidy and well run by a very hospitable team. I've already recommended the horsebox to friends and will probably return."

"We took our two girls (6 & 8) and had an amazing experience in the Horsebox. It was really private and at night you felt like the only ones there! The girls loved running around the beautiful woods and making little dens and fairy gardens for their toys as well as the adventure of camping out in their bunk beds! My husband enjoyed starting up a campfire each night and we all loved toasting marshmallows and reading round the fire after a yummy fire cooked tea. The woods were a day out in themselves, with loads of fun activities to stir up young imaginations. Location was good, nearby Uckfield having all you need and a 45 minute drive to Brighton Beach. Couldn't recommend the Horsebox enough, friendly and helpful staff too. Only caution would be to those with older children...the bunk beds are not very long and the girls only just fitted comfortably. Don't be put off though, it was a lovely experience and one not to be missed."

"Our stay was amazing, really enjoyed ourselves. Lovely touches, jug of milk, wild flowers in a vase, a full barrow load of wood for the open fire, clean cosy bed. We had the most amazing special and relaxed time. Thank you very much."

"Absolutely loved it. I had hoped my slightly towny boyfriend would be eased into camping with the stay in the horsebox and I think he loved it as much as I did! A very comfortable stay; loved cooking a full breakfast over the camp fire; the shower was great and surprisingly more than adequate. The wood itself is beautiful and is incredibly well managed. We can't wait to return."

"The best thing about our stay was having two deer stumble across our camp while were eating breakfast one morning. There were no bad things at all."
